Jessica Simpson Perfume
If you’re a Millennial girl like me, you’ve been keeping up to date on Jessica Simpson’s career, even if it was just out of curiosity. I’m not sure where it all went wrong, but I’m glad that her shoe and clothing line are doing well. In this blog post, I’ll be sharing Jessica Simpson perfumes that you can find at Macy’s. I think it’s a little odd that she doesn’t carry them or at least one of them on her main website. My guess is that Macy’s wanted exclusivity. Fair enough.

Who is Jessica Simpson
Jessica is from Albilene, Texas where she and her sister Ashlee Simpson grew up together. She actually dropped out of high school to start her music career, and her parents focused on her career to pursue her dreams. Columbia Records signed her when she was 17 and she later came out with her album, “Sweet Kisses”. “I Wanna Love You Forever” is one of her most watched music videos on YouTube and one of my favorite songs by her. If you wanted a reminder of who Jessica Simpson is, I put her new music video, “Leave” here for you. She’s rebranded as more of an edgy, pop girl and it suits her vocal range, honestly.
She recently divorced her current husband, the man who this song is about. One of these perfumes, Fancy Forever, I have a feeling she was either engaged or married to him while she came up with their name and the advertising. The reason I say this is because she is in a wedding dress for the ad. It would be kind of odd to do a wedding theme and not have it relate to you somehow. Just an outside perspective from me.
Jessica Simpson has come out with perfumes before, but they were through a company called Dessert Beauty. I have a whole blog post you can read on what happened with her brand and some dupes that may come pretty close to the originals. You can read that here:
Jessica Simpson Perfume (2008)
“Fancy”
Her first perfume that she put out through Macy’s in 2008 was “Fancy”. Jessica is known for her “girl next door” looks and charm and I’m glad she included that in the perfume scent description.
She says in an ET interview that her inspiration for the perfume ad was Bridgett Bardot. When people see this perfume ad, she wanted them to focus on the fragrance and not her body. She is literally so cute in this interview. Jessica talks about how she loves the word “fancy” because she heard her grandfather say in his southern drawl, ” I fancy you” while she was growing up in Texas. You have to admit, her bringing her southern charm and feminine aura into this perfume ad is the perfect combination.
” A whimsical, woody oriental fragrance, fancy is red carpet ready while maintaining the subtle flirtatious charm of the enticing girl next door.”

Jessica Simpson Perfume (2009)
“Fancy Love”
Fancy Love is supposed to be another wedding-based perfume made in 2009. You can see it in the final perfume ad picture and a little bit from the bridal-like dress Jessica is wearing in this “behind the scenes” video for the campaign. I really like how even the people she works with will say that she is very approachable and down to earth.
“A sensual fragrance that is both radiant and alluring. Irresistible and tempting, it truly is. . .’The timeless fragrance of falling in love.'”
Fragrance Family
- Fruity, Floral
Key Notes
- Playful and sparkling, the fragrance opens with a rich radiance of Peach Blossom, Bergamot and the delicate Goij Leaf, wrapped in a celebration of Pink Champagne.
- A captivating bouquet of blossoms forms the heart of this fragrance that deepens with the seductive blend of Lotus, Peony, Plumeria, Jasmine and Turkish Rose.
- The depth of this fragrance bursts with creamy Amber and Blonde Woods while sensual Musk and Patchouli create a loving and long-lasting trail.

Jessica Simpson Perfume (2010)
“Fancy Nights”
This fragrance was made in 2010 and marketed as a night-time fragrance. Perfect for date night, fancy evenings or a girl’s night out.
Where do I even begin with this ad. The dress is just awful. I understand why she went with “Fancy Nights” as the perfume name. It goes along with the theme of her other fragrances. I would have had her in a pretty dress, at night, at a fancy southern party. Belle of the ball. There is so much charm and romance that could have been put into this campaign but instead it looks very cheap. It doesn’t help that, in my opinion, it looks photo-shopped, and not in a believable way. You would think with her popularity and money she has that she could afford a great team. I think that for reasons like this, is why Carrie Underwood approves all of her own photos and has her own photographer. I wish Jessica would do the same.
Fragrance Family
- Fruity, Floral
Key Notes
- Top Notes: Papyrus and Bergamot
- Middle Notes: Patchouli, Rose and Jasmine
- Base Notes: Amber, Vanille, Sandalwood Oak Moss.

Jessica Simpson Perfume (2011)
“I Fancy You”
The phrase “I Fancy You” was mentioned in her ET interview in 2008, when she talks about how her grandfather would often say this. She loves the meaning behind the word fancy, not just in being an expensive attribute but also “fancying” someone or something. Jessica adds her Southern charm to everything she does. This perfume was made in 2011.
“A soft, velvety, floral musk, which includes scents of pear, Fuji apple, lily of the valley, and sandalwood.”
Fragrance Family
- Floral, Woody Musk
Key Notes
- Top Notes: Pear, Apple, Bergamot
- Heart Notes: Tuberose, Lily, Hyacinth
- Base Notes: Sandalwood, White Musks, Amber

Jessica Simpson Perfume (2012)
“Vintage Bloom”
Vintage Bloom was introduced in 2012 for women. It is the expression of Jessica Simpson’s feminine and sensual style. ‘To me, Vintage Bloom is all about my favorite things; it is easy, lovely, joyful and such a true connection to my heart’, explains the singer. The fragrance is dedicated to a charming woman with natural style… ‘a soft, sheer romantic floral, a subtle harmony of garden flowers wafting by on a summer breeze’. I can see the vision for the marketing here, but it just feels very lazy. If I was in charge of the photography and commercial ad, she would be in a flower garden in a pretty dress. Very southern belle in the Summertime in any era of the South. Do you see what I mean? This could have been better and still reached her target audience.
Fragrance Family
- Foral, Fruity
Key Notes
- Top Notes: Lemon, Sweet Lime
- Heart Notes: Peony, Raspberry, Fora Accord
- Base Notes: Sandalwood, Tonkin Musk
How to Use

Jessica Simpson Perfume (2014)
“The Signature Perfume”
Personally, I am not a fan of this perfume ad. I really think the director could have done more with her to make it more interesting. She looks very “lights are on and no one is home”, in my opinion. I know she had some issues with alcohol some years ago and maybe this is a result of that. I’m not an expert, just speculating. Again, I am really rooting for her success, but some things I can’t defend.
Her dress is cute, and the setting is pretty. I read some of the YouTube comments and one of them said something like, ” Is this perfume supposed to make us smell like the desert?”. Like I said, this commercial is not my favorite. It has nothing to do with the fragrance name, notes or background story. Perfume commercials in general are kind of odd, but there’s still an appeal to them quirky, pretty and at least memorable.
In 2014, in celebration of her turning 33 years old, Jessica Simpson introduced her signature fragrance. She wanted to show her evolution as a more mature woman. The scent is a mixture of everything that she grew up loving. The rounded bottle reveals a pink liquid, and its golden cap represents a feather. You can see with a lot of her fragrances she keeps the feather design.

- Heart Notes: Orange Blossom, Jasmine, Lily, Frangipani Blossom

Jessica Simpson Perfume (2014)
“Fancy Girl”
Fancy Girl is the fifth scent from the Jessica Simpson Perfume Fancy collection. The fragrance was made in 2014 as a coquettish, sunny and fun fragrance floral – fruity fragrance with an addictive vanilla dry-down. This fragrance is discontinued but you can find it on Amazon. There aren’t any ads on the internet of what the campaign looked like, so I mocked up some of my own.

Jessica Simpson Perfume (2015)
“Ten”
Jessica Simpson launched this fragrance, “Ten” in September 2015. The name is in honor of her ten years of being involved in the world of perfumes. Ten comes from the same line as Jessica Simpson Signature scent from 2014. The bottles are exactly the same complete with the feather wrapped around the top. This promo video is another ad that just makes her look like “the lights are on, and no one is home”. This is what happens when you have the wrong team behind you. It’s a little better than the last video “Signature scent’.
Fragrance Family
- Foral, Fruity
Key Notes
- Top Notes: Clementine, Nectarine and Plum
- Heart Notes: Tiger Lily and Star Fruit
- Base Notes: White Chocolate and Sandalwood

Jessica Simpson Perfume (2020)
“Fancy Forever”
If you love the smell of fruit and flowers together, this is another great recommendation. This scent came out in 2020 around the time when she was getting married/engaged to her ex-husband. The apricot and blackberries are an interesting combination to me. The first initial smell would be the apricot, then a hint of blackberry and vanilla on the bottom of the scent. Like a delicious fruit dessert. This scent is obviously marketed towards brides, but any women can wear this. The notes to me sound like a “day fragrance” but you can wear this whenever you want. I have seen from reviews that women get a lot of compliments wearing this.
“An addictive, alluring scent that lasts like everlasting love.”
Fragrance Family
- Fruity, Floral
Key Notes
- Top notes of apricot, lychee and mandarin
- Middle notes of blackberries, sweet pea and magnolia
- Base notes of vanilla, musk and Tonka bean
How to Use
Spray on pulse points.

Jessica Simpson Perfume (2020)
“Fiend- Limited Edition”
This fragrance was made during the 2020 pandemic era. It is a limited-edition fragrance and is no longer in production. I did find a site that does recreations of discontinued perfumes, and you can find their recreation of “Fiend” there. If you don’t think it smells like the original, they will give you your money back. To be safe, always read the fine print though to make sure you understand their terms.
Fragrance Family
- Floral, Woody Musk
Key Notes
- Musk, Sage, Woody Notes, Orris, Tyger Lily and Amber.
How to Use
Spray on pulse points.
If you would like to buy this perfume, you can find it on eBay in its original state through private sellers.
Conclusion
If you read my other post about Dessert Beauty by Jessica Simpson, you can see the difference in how she is marketed verses her perfume ads in recent years. I wish that she had a team with her that had taken elements of what really worked with the past advertising and then leaned into that Southern charm. It would have aged well with her and appealed to a bigger audience that wasn’t just pre-teens and teens. I am not a perfume expert by any means, but as someone who buys perfumes and is in her target market, these are just my first impressions and suggestions.
