Meditation, and Scented Grounding
April 4 – First Quarter Moon in Cancer
Shower Meditation
The first quarter Moon is a moment for emotional clarity and grounding, and the Taurus New Moon embodiment is water. I personally love doing shower meditations. You can also put on a sound bath with morning affirmations in the background.
I really like this one from The Gem Goddess on YouTube. I will give you some insight on how I do my own meditation. Make it fit for you and use your own visuals that make sense for your life. If you are standing in the shower, be aware and do not to fall down. Please keep that in mind. If you have a seat in your shower, built in or not, you can use that as well.

The Hourglass Grounding Method
I picture my body as the outline of my body. The inside of my body is filled with black sand. For me, this represents all of the energy I have taken on from other people and the negative self-talk I may have given myself. I imagine a cord that is fused to my tailbone or Root Chakra. I then imagine this cord making its way down to the center of the earth and fusing itself there as well.
The reason why I do this is so that all the black sand can be “rinsed away” and go down this grounding cord into the center of the Earth. By sending the negative energy to the center of the Earth, the Earth can then take this energy from me and create new and positive energy to bring back into the world.
I picture the sand leaving my body but also check in to see if I also feel lighter energy-wise. After you have cleared the negative energy from your body, I personally like to imagine a great big yellow ball of energy to place on top of my head that makes its way through my body and all of my chakras. When you feel like you are ready, you can move on with your day. If you have time to do this in the morning, great! If not, you can certainly do this at the end of your day and feel recharged and new after a good night’s rest.

Full Moon in Libra (April 12)
As the Moon reaches fullness in Libra — ruled by Venus and aligned with the element of air — the focus turns to beauty as balance. This is a collective moment of aesthetic recalibration: not just how you look, but how your environment reflects your emotional state. Libra invites symmetry, elegance, and emotional clarity through refined sensory cues.
Diptyque Roses Room Spray
Spritzing your space with the Diptyque Roses Room Spray becomes an act of floral feng shui. Its airy sillage of fluctuating rose bouquets mirrors Libra’s diplomacy and romantic precision. Just a few sprays can soften mental static and restore harmony, like flinging open the windows on a breezy spring morning. Libra’s ruling element, air, governs communication, breath, and perception — so anything that moves through space subtly and sweetly enhances its power. A rose-infused breeze encourages mental clarity, emotional ventilation, and aesthetic recalibration.

- Use it during mirror rituals, styling meditations, or journal sessions where aesthetics meet emotion.
- Let the scent float through curtains, your car or hair as a cue for internal composure and relational grace.
- Pair with visual symmetry: a center part, matching clips, mirrored liner — beauty as balance.
In sacred traditions across cultures, the rose has symbolized divine love, emotional purity, and the soul’s unfolding. Whether offered in devotional rites or steeped into heart-healing teas, this flower carries layers of metaphysical meaning.
On this Libra Full Moon, which blends Venusian grace with the intellectual clarity of the air element, it becomes a spiritual signal. A messenger between the physical and subtle realms. Spraying the Diptyque Roses Room Spray transforms your space into a sanctuary where emotional balance and aesthetic resonance can recalibrate together.

Last Quarter Moon in Aquarius (April 20)
This moon phase calls for energetic subtraction: a cut through illusion, buildup, and excess. Aquarius demands clear systems and futuristic thinking — not just new ideas, but cleaner foundations to hold them. It’s a moment for mental ventilation and emotional pruning.
Nettle, traditionally seen as a botanical disruptor, fits the mood. It’s a boundary plant: stinging, assertive, medicinal, and wildly misunderstood. Spiritually, nettle represents protection through discomfort — an herb of detox and sovereignty. In folklore, it was used to ward off evil, break curses, and stimulate circulation (both literal and energetic). Its presence signals a refusal to stagnate.
Historical Significance of Nettle in Hair Rituals
Nettle (Urtica dioica) has long been considered a botanical ally in hair wellness. In ancient Egypt and Rome, it was prized for its circulatory effects — especially through urtication, a practice where nettles were rubbed on the skin to stimulate blood flow. This increase in circulation was believed to enhance scalp vitality, potentially promoting hair growth. During the medieval period, nettle appeared frequently in European herbal traditions as a cleansing and strengthening agent. Springtime tonics brewed from the leaves were used to purify the blood and restore vitality after winter, with hair shedding and dullness treated as part of the seasonal imbalance.
Across cultures, nettle found its way into folk medicine and indigenous practices — not just as a physical remedy but as a spiritual tool. Used to treat dandruff, eczema, and thinning hair, it became a symbol of resilience and renewal. Some rites incorporated nettle into fertility and protection rituals, especially in spring or lunar ceremonies tied to personal transformation. The plant’s fibrous stalks were woven into textiles, further anchoring it as a botanical of creation and continuity.
Botanical Chemistry and Benefits
Modern analysis confirms much of what ancient healers intuited. Nettle is rich in iron, silica, magnesium, and vitamins A, C, and K — all of which nourish the hair shaft and support follicular health. It also contains compounds that inhibit DHT (dihydrotestosterone), a hormone linked to hair thinning and pattern baldness. Its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties help treat scalp irritation and reduce dandruff, creating a healthier growth environment. Additionally, nettle enhances blood flow to the scalp, which may support stronger, faster-growing hair.
Traditional Preparations for Hair Care
Historical applications often took the form of nettle infusions poured over the scalp, either as teas or rinses after cleansing. Oil infusions — where nettle is steeped in a carrier like olive or jojoba — offered a more emollient treatment, soothing inflammation and reinforcing hair’s strength and luster. When consumed internally, nettle tea or supplements were used to address iron deficiencies and hormonal imbalances that could affect hair health from within.
Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle
Whether steeped in tea or used in products like Klorane’s dry shampoo, nettle has a singular message: regulate what you’ve let fester. Remove what’s clouding clarity. Honor friction as fuel. That ethos is baked into Klorane’s formula, where nettle extract isn’t just a natural ingredient — it’s a targeted solution for oil buildup and scalp stagnation. Their dry shampoo leverages nettle’s oil-regulating properties to refresh hair in seconds, absorbing grease without disrupting volume or texture. Ideal for those extending time between washes, it leaves no chalky residue, making it a clean choice for clarity — both visual and energetic.

How to Use:

- Spray evenly 10 inches away from hair, focusing at the roots.

Key Ingredients
Nettle Extract
A powerhouse botanical for scalp health, nettle root extract is known to inhibit 5-alpha-reductase, the enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT — a hormone linked to follicle shrinkage and hair loss. Research suggests it promotes dermal papilla cell growth, supporting the hair cycle and making it a valuable addition to topical treatments like dry shampoo. Nettle also enhances blood flow to the scalp, delivering oxygen and nutrients to follicles for refreshed vitality. Acting as a natural astringent, it helps control oiliness, while its sulfur-rich profile calms inflammation and reduces dandruff. Rich in silica and polyphenols, nettle reinforces strand integrity, reduces breakage, and neutralizes free radicals to slow premature follicle aging.
Corn Starch
Cornstarch’s fine, powdery texture acts like a sponge, binding to excess oils on the scalp and hair shaft to instantly reduce greasiness between washes. Its particles create a subtle thickening effect, lifting roots and adding fullness to fine or limp hair. Gentle and non-reactive, cornstarch can calm mild itchiness or irritation, making it suitable for sensitive scalps. It also helps seal in moisture, smooth the cuticle, and reduce frizz, offering protection against humidity.
Free from parabens, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances, cornstarch is a safer alternative to aerosol dry shampoos, minimizing buildup and irritation. While effective, it may leave residue on dark or tightly coiled hair unless blended with cocoa powder or applied sparingly — a challenge addressed by tinted versions like Klorane’s “dark hair” formula.
Rice Starch
A refined alternative to traditional starches, rice starch particles measure just 3–8 microns wide, blending invisibly into hair — even dark or textured types — without chalky residue. Unlike surface-level absorption, rice starch forms a microscopic capillary network that traps oil, leaving roots cleaner and lighter. Mildly acidic and pH-balanced, it helps maintain scalp defenses and may act as a prebiotic, feeding beneficial microbes. Its smooth, spherical particles glide between strands without roughening the cuticle, preserving shine and minimizing breakage.
Rice starch is gentle on color-treated hair, less likely to strip pigment or disrupt the lipid layer, while its mild negative charge prevents static and frizz. Fermented rice derivatives add polyphenols and γ-oryzanol to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress, while rice bran compounds may block DHT conversion and boost β-catenin expression — supporting follicle proliferation and prolonging the growth phase.
