Florasis: Pressed Powders
Florasis Brand History and Philosophy
In Hangzhou, a city celebrated for silk, embroidery, and centuries of refined craftsmanship, Florasis brings that same artistry to makeup. Founded in 2017, the brand blends traditional Chinese aesthetics with modern cosmetic science. Every product is thoughtfully designed — from the textures of the powders to the intricate details on each compact.
Florasis quickly became known for its botanical ingredients and high-quality formulas. Many pressed powders include herbal extracts selected for brightening, soothing, and balancing the skin. Livestream demonstrations helped the brand showcase how the powders perform on real skin, building trust and a loyal following.
Craftsmanship is central to Florasis’s identity. Their compacts often feature delicate motifs inspired by embroidery, peonies, birds, and filigree. These details turn makeup application into a small, luxurious ritual rather than a routine task.

Florasis Pressed Powder Packaging and Embossed Art
Florasis pressed powders are as beautiful to look at as they are to use. Every compact is thoughtfully designed, with soft pastel tones, gold filigree, and intricate motifs that catch the light. The powders are embossed with delicate patterns — peacocks, blossoms, and textures inspired by traditional embroidery. Collections like “Ode to Embroidery” and “Nomadic Glam” celebrate cultural heritage, giving each powder a story while remaining light, soft, and effortless on the skin.
Florasis Fairy Peach Blossom Pressed Powder
The original Fairy Peach Blossom Pressed Powder comes in a deep blue compact accented with gold filigree. Inside, the powder is embossed with an iridescent peacock pattern, capturing classical Chinese elegance. They later changed the packaging and the pressed powder image to both be iridescent but kept the name the same. The compact later evolved into a pearlescent, abalone shell-inspired exterior.

The interior design was updated with a camel scene set against desert tones, surrounded by intricate detailing along the edges. This new design adds a narrative quality to the compact, turning it into a miniature artwork. I tried to look and see where you could buy the original version with the gold filagree, but nothing showed up. Your best bet may be to watch eBay listings. There isn’t even anything on Amazon, surprisingly.

Florasis YURONG Airbrush Tinted Pressed Powder SPF 50+
The YURONG Airbrush Tinted Pressed Powder SPF 50+ provides lightweight coverage with broad-spectrum sun protection. Lotus flower and peach blossom extracts help soothe and brighten skin while the airbrushed finish keeps complexion soft and even. The packaging is different on both pressed powders, but the formula is the same.

The original packaging has a cool UV-Smart Responsive cover that changes in the sun! The travel size packaging doesn’t have this, but personally I wouldn’t want my cool makeup traveling with me. I would want it safe at home. What if your luggage gets lost while flying? I’d rather lose the small powder if I had the choice.

Florasis Flawless Jade Breathable Color Correcting Loose Powder
This powder comes in three shades: lavender, peach, and mint. Lavender neutralizes dull looking skin, peach brightens, and mint counters redness.

Color Correcting Shades
Color correcting is based on the principles of the color wheel: complementary colors can neutralize unwanted undertones in the skin. Florasis’s Flawless Jade Breathable Color Correcting Loose Powder uses this technique with three specific shades — lavender, peach, and mint — to target common skin concerns. Each shade is finely milled and formulated to be lightweight, so it blends seamlessly without looking powdery or masking the skin.
Lavender
Lavender is opposite yellow on the color wheel. Yellow undertones in the skin can create a dull, sallow appearance. When lavender pigment is applied over yellow areas, it effectively neutralizes that undertone by “cancelling” it visually. This occurs because the cool purple particles reflect light in a way that counterbalances the warmth of the yellow, resulting in a brighter, more even-looking complexion. Florasis achieves this with ultrafine mica and mineral pigments that diffuse light across the skin’s surface, giving a subtle luminous effect rather than a flat, opaque correction.
Peach
Peach tones are complementary to blue or purple undertones, which can appear as dark circles or general discoloration under the eyes. The peach pigment neutralizes these cooler tones by adding warmth, brightening the area and reducing the perception of shadow. The Florasis formula combines finely milled color-correcting pigments with breathable powder particles, which allows the peach color to blend naturally into the skin without leaving a pastel cast. This creates a soft, even finish that still allows the natural skin tone to show through.
Mint
Mint green is opposite red on the color wheel, making it ideal for neutralizing redness from blemishes, irritation, or broken capillaries. When mint pigment is applied to red areas, it visually cancels out the red tones by balancing the warm hue with its cool green tint. Florasis enhances this effect with microfine powders that disperse evenly on the skin, creating a smooth, matte finish while maintaining a lightweight, breathable feel. The inclusion of plant-derived extracts also soothes irritated areas, reinforcing the color-correcting effect with gentle care.
How Color Correcting It Works
By layering or selectively applying these powders, users can target multiple concerns simultaneously. The formula is designed to be ultra-fine, so the pigments blend invisibly while still reflecting light to diffuse imperfections. Using the correct shade for each area allows the skin to appear more even and radiant without heavy coverage. The loose powder texture also allows it to be applied over foundation or bare skin, making it versatile for both touch-ups and full-face color correction.
Florasis’s approach combines traditional color theory with modern powder technology: micronized pigments, soft-focus powders, and botanical additives that create a functional yet aesthetically pleasing experience. The result is a lightweight, breathable powder that corrects tone while enhancing the natural look of the skin, rather than masking it.

Florasis YURONG Airbrush Tinted Pressed Powder Ode to Embroidery
The Ode to Embroidery collection highlights Florasis’s dedication to cultural heritage by partnering with Lu Meihong, a third‑generation Su embroidery artist. Su embroidery is one of China’s most esteemed traditional textile arts, known for its refined silk stitching, subtle layering of color, and lifelike representation of natural and cultural motifs. Florasis chose to bring this craft to life on makeup packaging to honor a heritage that spans centuries and to translate real artistic tradition into a modern beauty context.
Lu Meihong
Lu Meihong inherited her craft through multiple generations of hand‑stitched Su embroidery mastery. Her work reflects not only precise technical skill, but a deep understanding of balance, texture, and composition — qualities that make Su embroidery one of China’s celebrated art forms. For the Florasis Ode to Embroidery pressed powders, Lu collaborated with the brand’s design team to translate her visions into tiny, intricate surface patterns and packaging elements. With Nano‑Light Embroidery technology, Florasis is able to faithfully reproduce the detail and dimensionality of her embroidery work on the powder case and compact design, creating a product that feels as thoughtfully crafted as a textile heirloom.
By integrating Lu Meihong’s embroidery heritage into their pressed powders, Florasis bridges ancient textile artistry and modern beauty technology. Each compact becomes a microcosm of cultural craftsmanship — a conversation between generations of textile tradition and contemporary cosmetic artistry. With every use, you’re not just setting or refining your makeup, you’re interacting with a piece of design rooted in real heritage and artistic lineage.

Shades and Texture
The powders in this Ode to Embroidery edition maintain the same finely milled, silky texture that Florasis is known for, but the artistic depth comes through in how the embossed pattern looks the moment you open the compact. Shade options are chosen to flatter a variety of skin tones while enhancing luminosity, so the visual and aesthetic experience matches the tactile one. When you swipe the powder on, the formula still feels weightless and breathable, letting the skin take center stage while the artistic motif makes every application feel special.

Florasis Nomadic Glam Collection and Pressed Powders
Florasis’s Nomadic Glam collection draws inspiration from the vast grasslands and nomadic cultures of northern China. By blending historical motifs with modern beauty design, Florasis turns each product into a compact story of culture, movement, and artistry. The warm, earthy tones and tactile textures echo the practical materials and vibrant landscapes of nomadic life, while incorporating the brand’s signature refined craftsmanship.

Jeffery Starr Approved
The best news you can hear about a makeup brand you love, is that it is also Jeffery Starr approved. I have put Jeffery Starr’s review of Florasis below so you can see the quality of the makeup and how it applies. I would like to remind you though, that in China they like to have more of a “no makeup- makeup” look, so the color payoff is more subtle. Jeffery isn’t known for being subtle. LOL!
Pressed Beauty Meets Artistry
Every Florasis pressed powder is more than just makeup — it’s a celebration of artistry, culture, and meticulous craftsmanship. From the delicate embroidery-inspired motifs of the Ode to Embroidery collection to the earthy, nomadic landscapes captured in Nomadic Glam, each compact tells a story while performing flawlessly on the skin. Whether you’re sweeping on a feather-light layer for a natural glow or using color-correcting powders to refine your complexion, you’re holding a piece of history, tradition, and imagination — all pressed into a silky, luxurious finish that makes everyday beauty feel extraordinary.
