What to do About your Aging Neck

As an esthetician, I am overly aware about neck wrinkles and that in order to keep my skin looking young, I need to include my neck into my routine. I try to put myself in other people’s shoes to understand how this part of the routine would be missed. Maybe it’s lack of knowledge or it’s simply forgotten altogether. I’m here to tell you your “face” ends with your breasts! You need to be incorporating your face, neck, chest and boobs into your routine. Once you get into the habit, you will thank yourself years down the road.
Our neck skin is similar to the skin around our eyes in that it is thinner and more delicate. The neck is one of the body parts that tends to age the fastest compared to other parts of our body. The reason for this could be too much sun exposure, drinking and smoking. It could also just be a genetic trait that you have no control over. Once your skin starts to lose elasticity, the skin becomes translucent, and our veins can be seen beneath the skin.
So, what do you do about it? I will never encourage smoking especially when it comes to skin health. If you want to drink on a happy occasion, this is more realistic than going dry completely. Keeping it to a minimum will definitely help with keeping your skin looking it’s best. Another thing you can do is wear sunscreen. You can choose to wear physical sunscreen or mineral sunscreen, but please choose one. No matter what your race and skin color are, you are at risk for skin cancer, not just the cosmetic wrinkles we want to avoid.

First apply at bedtime with clean, dry skin. Then pump the wand to dispense the product onto the antimicrobial rollerball. Apply the product to your jawline, chin and your neck focusing on specific areas that require tightening and smoothing. To use for fat melting, apply to your jowls, neck and any sagging skin under your chin and around the neck and jaw daily. This same method can be used on your décolleté or “upper chest”.
According to the website, the fat melting technology will improve your skin with continuous nightly use. You should see results within 14-30 days.

Be Aware of How you Feel
Individuals are likely to experience anything from a mild tingling sensation to a warm feeling on the areas of the neck where serum has been applied. This is normal and will subside quickly. After the first few days of use, your skin should begin to desensitize, and the initial tingling and warmth will lessen.
All of this sounds great, right? But what about the results? I tried the Neck, Chin & Jawline Sculpting Wand XL for 52 days, both day and night and these are the results that I got.

Neck Stretching Exercises
I found this video on Eminence Organics Instagram and thought this would be a great example to share with you.
Stretch your neck daily to tighten weak muscles, stimulate blood circulation and allow greater oxygen flow and nourishment into your skin cells. Try these simple stretches to keep the skin around your neck looking smooth and wrinkle-free:
- Tilt your head back. Press the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth and swallow. Repeat with your head tilted to the right, then with your head tilted to the left.
- Place your fingertips at the base of the neck and lightly pull the skin downwards while slowly tilting your head back. Hold for a few seconds, tilt your head back towards your chest and repeat.
Raise Your Eyelevel
If you don’t want to go the “skincare route” or you want another great tip to prevent “tech neck’. I write from my desktop computer, so my eye level is at a better place than it was before when I was using my laptop. When I had my laptop, my face was facing more in a downwards direction because of where the screen was at. So, how did I fix this? A laptop stand. Now if you don’t have the money for that, you can always lay some books underneath. Using the same width and height give or take. This isn’t a perfect solution, but it will get you going until you can get something else.
